A Journey Through History and Heritage
Upon entering the Archaeological Museum in Skopje, visitors are welcomed by a hall displaying prehistoric artifacts, including stone tools, pottery, and figurines that tell the story of the first settlements in the region. The exhibition guides guests through the evolution of cultures in Macedonia.
In the next area, ancient sculptures, architectural elements, and bronze objects from historical cities illustrate the skill and artistry of past craftsmen.

Moving forward, the museum presents medieval and Byzantine artifacts, such as icons, jewelry, and weapons, reflecting both the spiritual and everyday life of the time. Visitors can also explore intricate manuscripts and religious objects that reveal the rich cultural and artistic traditions of the medieval period.
Finally, the exhibition connects archaeology with ethnology, showcasing movable items from the Ethno House in Kočani alongside unique artifacts like the Golden Mask from Trebenishte, offering a bridge between the past and Macedonia’s living cultural heritage. The carefully curated displays highlight how traditions and craftsmanship have been preserved and adapted throughout the centuries.
